Smart Panels – Virtual Club Meeting

As EV onboard chargers become inexorably higher-powered enabling faster charging, it follows that more powerful home charging units will be installed. A 48 amp charger (a common power-level nowadays) requires a 60 amp breaker. And if we zoom out to a decarbonized future, that means increasingly moving to heat pumps and electric appliances. Adding these will likely require more electricity than is available to the home. Upgrading electric service can be expensive. Smart panels offer a way to manage energy in circumstances where the maximum potential draw exceeds available power. And being smart devices, they do more than just that.

We have speakers from SPAN, a smart panel manufacturer and Pure Energy, LLC, a certified local installer of smart panels and EV chargers. They will tell us about how they work, their capabilities, what is involved in the installation, what they cost, and what incentives are available.
