NEEVS Update

There Is Still A Small Window To Claim The Federal Incentive

For anyone who is EV curious, join us at the annual EV Club event in New Haven.

On September 28th at the Hotel Marcel from 12-4PM, the EV Club hosts a ride and drive event and EV education. Free registration at this link (we ask that you register as it helps us plan and document) – https://driveelectricmonth.org/event?eventid=4974

The federal incentive sunsets on September 30th. It is not necessary to take delivery of a vehicle by that date. A binding contract with a down payment is enough. Delivery can happen subsequently.

Hotel Marcel

The hotel is again the venue for our event. This is the first all-electric, passive-house certified hotel in the country. It is LEED Platinum certified. The power comes from roughly 1000 solar panels installed on the roof of the building and 3 solar canopies, augmented by batteries to store excess energy for when it’s needed. Tours will be given to see the tech that makes it happen.

The hotel has inked a sustainability partnership with Hyundai. Sustainable hospitality meets sustainable transportation.

Vehicle to Grid Pilot

The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority via the Innovative Energy Solutions program has funded the state’s first vehicle to grid project. The name of the technology vendor is Bidirectional Energy. We will have information about the technology that has been approved and which vehicles are eligible. Recruitment for participants is expected to begin soon.

Interact With Others

Plenty of opportunities for informal education to take place.

Latest updates on incentives as we face changes at both the state and federal level, for EV purchase or lease, and for charging.

Food and beverages for sale during the event.

Plenty of level 2 (J1772 and NACS) and level 3 chargers (Tesla Superchargers – NACS only) on site.
