Top EV Makes Registered in CT
The chart above shows the EV makes with the highest number of registrations as of January 1, 2026. These makes account for over 90% of the 73,156 registrations. These numbers include all drive trains.
Tesla is still the leader with 34% of all registered vehicles. The company has had a dominant share all along, but it has been steadily eroding. Five years ago it was 42%. Below is a table of % share for each of these makes this year vs. last year. Keep in mind that this is a file of all registrations, not current sales, and a 1 point change in percentage is a lot. BMW, Rivian, and Honda were the only makes with an increase.
