Where to Site Streetlamp Chargers

Determining Locations for Voltpost Pilot

Clean Cities Webinar

The pilot program approved by Public Utilities Regulatory Authority to install level 2 EV chargers in lampposts is moving forward. Voltpost is the vendor.

An informational session was held on 6/30, open to interested municipalities and other entities in Fairfield, Litchfield, Hartford, Tolland, and Windham Counties.

The information in the webinar was positively received and Voltpost is working with the interested parties to do site assessment and make a determination regarding where chargers will be installed. This blog will post the locations when that information becomes available.

For those not in attendance, it isn’t too late. Please let us know in the comments if you are interested and we’ll connect you. Specify if you work for a municipality or entity, or if you are asking as a citizen (which is permitted).

Please keep in mind that because this program comes from PURA, it applies only to areas served by Eversource or United Illuminating, and only in the counties noted above.

Participating municipalities or public entities do not incur a cost to participate.

  1. Hi! I’m part of Sustainable Essex and we have a survey ongoing to the public to obtain feedback on EV chargers in town. I would be interested in the information about assessing locations for streetlamp chargers
